Meet Dr. Cat Liang
I believe attention is the most valuable resource we have. I’m grateful that you’re giving me yours by being here.
I’m a liberation psychologist who integrates psychotherapy with dance and yoga therapy. I’m also queer, AAPI, and a survivor of complex trauma. My lived experience, combined with my education and training, have given me a deep passion for helping those on the margins of society connect to healing and empowerment.
I was raised by immigrant parents, with Traditional Chinese Medicine woven into the fabric of my upbringing. I’ve been in love with dance and movement for almost as long as I’ve known how to walk- from taking baby ballet at the age of 3, to competing in figure skating in high school, to instructing yoga and pole dancing since college. I’ve always known that the mind and the body are connected, and that profound healing can be found by listening to our body’s wisdom.
I provide individual therapy, couples therapy, and movement therapy. I’ve received comprehensive training in trauma therapy, including working with survivors of childhood physical and sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, and racial trauma.
When I’m not working, I’m taking dance classes, baking sourdough bread, and tending to my garden.
